Wheat Bran

The milling and grinding of wheat grains produces wheat bran, a byproduct. White flour is typically produced from the milling of wheat bran. Only the husks are removed from whole grain production, and the grain and bran are further processed. Insoluble fiber is concentrated in wheat bran. Because the fiber is only partially digested, it may act as a laxative.
The feed industry purchases exported wheat bran. The production of wheat bran ranges from 45 to 90 million tons. Pakistan, India, China, the United States, Turkey, the Russian Federation, and France account for 75% of production.
